Painters Run Road

The closure on Painters Run Road, just west of its intersection with McMillan Road in Upper St. Clair, is expected to reopen on Saturday, August 15, weather permitting. It was closed due to the discovery of a mine void, which is being filled in out of an abundance of caution. Traffic will continue to be detoured using Bower Hill Road, Kelso Road and Rob Hollow Road until it reopens.

Paving work will also continue on Painters Run Road between Bower Hill Road in Scot Township and Cedar Boulevard in Mt. Lebanon. This work, which is expected to last through at least August 19, will occur overnight—from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday to Saturday.

After the paving work is complete, crews will return to working between daylight hours only – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – until the project ends. The Painters Run Road project is expected to end in August.

Drivers should expect to see flaggers controlling traffic and plan for short stoppages and delays in the work zones.

Scrubgrass Road (Scott)

Contractors will work on the gas line on Scrubgrass Road in Scott Township. Single-lane alternating traffic will be between Old Scrubgrass Road and Swallow Hill Road weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late March. Even though the project isn’t in Mt. Lebanon, it could potentially cause delays for drivers in the area.
